Where does the ban and restriction data come from?
From the EU CosIng database and Annexes II and III of Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009. For restricted ingredients we show the restriction itself, e.g. the maximum allowed concentration.
What does the alert count next to an ingredient mean?
It is the number of notifications in the EU Safety Gate system (formerly RAPEX) where that substance was detected in a recalled cosmetic. Click the ingredient to see the full alert list and restriction details.
Can I treat the result as a product safety assessment?
