What you'll find in this database

Each substance on the list has one of four EU regulatory statuses: banned in cosmetics (Annex II), restricted under specific conditions – maximum concentration, product category, on-pack warning (Annex III), approved as a special-purpose additive – colourant, preservative or UV filter (Annexes IV, V, VI), or subject to mandatory label declaration as a fragrance allergen. Clicking an INCI name takes you to a detail page with full information: CAS and CosIng identifiers, description, cosmetic functions, the exact annex reference under Regulation 1223/2009, and related EU Safety Gate alerts on products containing the substance.
